I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Government at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM.  I earned my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma. My research focuses on questions of accountability, governance and public policies, with a substantive focus on environmental and energy policy. Before going to Graduate School I was a practitioner in public and nonprofit field for more than ten years. I have served as a founding member, a project manager and a deputy director of a non-profit organization and a public servant in a Central Bank. These experiences have shaped my motivation for an advanced degree and have instigated my innate curiosity that forms my research agenda. I am passionate about connecting academia with practice; finding evidence based solutions to real world problems as well as  contributing to the theoretical foundation of the discipline.
